Friday Fun Series Race #2
Open-Air Concert

Tonight’s Double Header

Tonight, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm we will be having an open-air concert from the exceptional talents of Christine Capsuto-Schulman and Paul Aebersold. The concert will be at the bottom of the E-Dock nearest to the Harbor House.

Feel free to dinghy over, sit on a party barge, bring your chairs to the dock, just hang out on your boat or tune in via Zoom.

Please stay in your social bubbles, six feet apart, and wear your mask while moving around.

Please register as we have to limit in-person attendance to 50. This event will be open to harbor members too.

Calling all racers!

Tonight’s weather may be a little cooler but should be perfect for racing.

Full details including the NOR can be found on the FFS Page of the website.

You can register there. If you’re looking for Crew or you’re looking for a boat there are sign-ups there too.

Save the Date – Saturday, August 15th

Join us for another Open-Air Concert on Saturday, August 15th, on the kayak dock with the fabulous Kimiko and Freedom Sound Trio. This is the same trio that was featured at our holiday party last December. Due to the county restrictions during the club groundbreaking, Kimiko and her group were not able to join us to help celebrate the day.  We will welcome them back to entertain us on a warm summer’s evening.
Since we have to limit in-person attendance to 50, we are asking everyone who plans to attend to please register in advance. This event will be open to harbor members too.
Feel free to dinghy over, sit on a party barge, bring your chairs to the dock, just hang out on your boat or tune in via Zoom. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink.

Please stay in your social bubbles, six feet apart, and wear your mask while moving around.

Register here or on SlipStream.

Cruising the Delta

This time of year my thoughts turn to cruising to a place where the air is warm and the water is fresh, the San Joaquin Delta is calling us! Earlier this year we talked of teaming up with Sequoia Yacht Club on a joint cruise out to the Delta Yacht Club. And, while just a couple weeks ago the situation looked positive, COVID continues to make this a different and dynamic year for planning. Sequoia Yacht Club is planning to head “up the river,” starting on approx August 7th, and has invited The Club to join them. The plan is to anchor in the Delta for the week, likely in Potato Slough (aka “The Bedrooms”). Anyone interested in going should be prepared for the approx 90 nm trip up and be well versed and confident independently anchoring. Rafting up will be discouraged and limited. Sadly, my crew on Agave will miss the Delta this year. If you are interested in joining SYC for the trip up the river, please follow the link below to register (there is also more information about the trip provide at the link). Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any general questions about cruising up to the Delta, or if more specifically about this trip, please reach out directly to Richard Webber (SYC Flag & TWAC member). Richard is leading the trip and trying to gauge interest, therefore, please register soon to help them plan.
Here’s the link to sign up: in the SYC membership field please enter 9999

New Rules for Accessing The Clubhouse

For a short period of time, we were able to use The Clubhouse and we had some wonderful small gatherings. With the announcement last week from the Governor we are, once again not able to use the facility.

In addition, ABC has suspended all Type-51 licenses so we can no longer sell alcoholic beverages in The Clubhouse.

We support sensible restrictions and thank you for your continued support of our actions as we navigate these difficult times.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Clubhouse when these restrictions are lifted and we can once again enjoy social events in person. Until then we will continue to provide a variety of fun virtual and outdoor events.

It’s a wrap
