Hello everyone - I do hope that you and your families are doing well.
It was good to see that the San Mateo country reduced the Covid alert to Orange -hopefully that trend continues. It enables us to put the interim Club house back into action albeit with restrictions on how it can be used but still good to announce that. The details are in the Buzz. I want to emphasise that we shall continue to focus on open air as well as Zoom events as we see those being the most effective ones for groups of people for the forseeable future.
October Highlights
There are a number of highlights to report for October including more great social events plus of course the Annual General Meeting.
Starting with the General Meeting I do encourage you to read the materials if you could not make the virtual meeting. We gave a host of information on the Building, a Culture update, the latest on Membership plus a lot of detail on additional member amenities we are considering and of course a finance update. The meeting was well attended by about 60 members with lots of good questions that we did our best to answer on the day. My thanks to all the attendees – given it was a virtual event I was pleased to see the active participation and energy.
The social calendar in October continued our positive momentum with the Whiskey Hill Billies which was a huge success plus this last weekend a Halloween event featuring Steve Stanley and friends. Both of these were sold out! We also had a first open-air movie night featuring Captain Ron – Always fun to watch.
Building
For those of you who missed the General Meeting, the building update included the latest 3D drawings and Mark went through the status with the City. They are working slowly on approval for construction of the road but have now given us questions which we are answering so we continue to make headway. Plus we are actively getting the building construction pack ready to send into the City.
Events
As we move into November our objective is to continue the social calendar and provide lots of Zoom events as the nights draw in. And please use the interim Clubhouse which is a good venue for social bubbles. Alcohol is available for sale in unopened bottles and soft drinks are gratis.
2020 Member Survey
The other big topic is our survey. We announced this at the General Meeting and it is now available online to complete. It covers questions about The Club activities today and those we plan in the future. So please take a few minutes to give us your feedback. It is straightforward to complete and should only take 10 minutes of your time. We really value your input.
