Unleash the Adventure! Three boats braved strong winds on a thrilling cruise out to Ballena Bay in Alameda, where the welcoming Ballena Bay Yacht Club treated us like royalty – including a dinghy escort to our weekend slips. We explored the historic USS Hornet, savored craft brews at The Rake, and indulged in a magnificent BBQ overlooking San Francisco’s stunning skyline, streamed live into the BBYC via the Mersea webcam. Another epic weekend, uncovering hidden treasures in the Bay Area’s unique boating communities!

Burgee Exchange at Royal Corinthian YC
Burnham-on-Crouch, UK
with Gerhard Scherer
|
|
|
Since its foundation on the Thames in 1872, Royal Corinthian Yacht Club has produced many fine amateur helmsmen and women, including National and International Champions of all ages, upholding its earliest objective;
“To encourage Amateur Yacht Sailing”
Starting with its early adoption of the concept of one-design sailing in the late 19th Century, through to providing crew for the J-Class Endeavour in the 1934 America’s Cup and selecting the British Team for the Olympics in 1936, RCYC has constantly pursued excellence in every aspect of sailing.

Visiting other Yacht Clubs and Burgee Exchange Procedure
Just to let you know, members wanting to visit other clubs worldwide should contact the club concerned at least two weeks in advance. Most clubs will welcome you without any more ceremony. Some may ask for a letter of introduction (LOI) from The Club at Westpoint. Please get the name, title, and email address of the person to whom the LIO should be sent and send them to GM@TheClubAtWestpoint.com. Kevin will then reach out to that person and arrange for your visit.
If you wish to perform a Burgee Exchange with that club let Kevin know and he will get you a burgee ($25 each). Make sure you get a picture (like Gerhard’s above) with both burgees and send them to Kevin to include in The Buzz.

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, storyteller, traveler and road warrior are all words that aptly describe Scott Kirby. Finishing songs while driving through the Italian countryside, performing 100 plus live shows throughout the US and Canada, touring Ireland with 50 fans in tow, and recording his tenth album in Nashville, all keep the barnacles off this modern-day troubadour.
This is Scott’s fourth trip to The Club. He was one of the first acts to perform for us and has become an annual favorite.
Food and Beverages will be available to purchase.
