Dinghy Out to the Fireworks
TUESDAY, JULY IVth, 2023

Hello Cruisers!

If you are planning to join us tomorrow for The Club 4th of July celebration at the Harbor, here’s some important notes:

  • We’ll start setting up at 3 pm. Please don’t arrive at N Dock before 3 pm.
  • The BBQ will be on our future club dock, N Dock (same dock we hosted the boat show hospitality barge)
  • Please dinghy over if you can, or walk around to N Dock

I’m planning to bring a gas BBQ that will be available for cooking. I’ll also bring a couple tables for serving food.

Feel free to drop in and join us anytime and stay as long or short as you like, but the closer you are to 3 pm the more likely we’ll put you to work with set up.

Assume picnic games and conversation starting around 3:30 pm. we start BBQing around 6 pm, and dinner before 7 pm. After dinner, clean up and then for anyone interested, dinghy out to watch the fireworks, or hang out on N Dock and enjoy the show from the Harbor. Fireworks aren’t scheduled to start until sunset (9:30). So, if you chose to dinghy you need to be comfortable returning in the dark (please bring life jackets for everyone on your dinghy and bring a light).

WHAT TO BRING:

Please bring:

  • A protein to BBQ for your party. Please try to keep it something neat and not too saucy (helps keep the BBQ and dock clean)
  • A side dish to share, but not too much or we will end up with too much food
  • Plates, cups and silverware for your group
  • Folding chairs
  • Beverages

We’re hoping to have a cornhole game on the dock and bring your RC sailboats if you have them.

Let me know if you have any questions

Please RSVP to Shannon. if you are attending.

Shannon.

Cruise-Out Calendar Update
from Shannon Amerman

Hello Cruisers,

As we have had a couple of adjustments to the schedule, I just wanted to remind you of what we have planned for the next couple of months. Please mark your calendar with this info and I hope to see you!

  • July 4th: Casual BBQ on the (soon to be) Club guest dock (N dock). Details are still being finalized, but the idea is that club members and their guests can dinghy over to the guest dock—we BBQ and then dinghy out to the turning basin at sunset (hopefully in a big group) to watch fireworks! More to follow once I finalize the plan with the Harbor. And, for anyone that doesn’t want to dinghy out, you can see the fireworks (at least the high ones) from N dock, so stay around and enjoy the show.
  • Aug 25 to Sept 1: The Delta. One of my top 3 places to visit!
  • Sept 1 to 4: Sausalito (Schoonmaker)… Those that are in the Delta can stop here on the way home as it’s an easy stopover along the way, or if not in the Delta, please do come and join us for the Labor Day weekend.
  • Oct 20 to 22: Half Moon Bay

I’d love to get an informal “we’re planning to go” or “wish we could but can’t make it” email from you… so please, reply to me (no need to reply all) and just give me a sense if you are planning to join any of the above cruise outs. I will create sign-ups but would love to get a sense of the number of people planning to join. Mostly because planning a cruise out for 3 boats vs 15 boats is very different.

Hope to see you out there! Last weekend in Ayala Cove at Angel Island was FANTASTIC. The winds up and back were perfect, lots of fun at the island, and we took dinghies over to Corinthian YC to visit with the crew of Hurrica and Ocean Queen as they participated in the Wood Boat Show. You missed a fun weekend with lots of boats (and classic cars)!

Cheers, and looking forward to hearing from you.
