New Billing Process Rolling Out

As we ramp up to transitioning to the new clubhouse we’re improving several of our internal systems. The first of those is our accounting and payment systems.

In the next week you will receive your latest account statement and a ACH/Credit Card Authorization form. Please validate the information and read the instructions very carefully. Beginning in August we will automatically charge your account for food, beverage, event, and membership charges.

July and August at The Club

A quick note from the editor. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the regatta such a success. And thanks to all the skippers who entered the race. The weather was perfect for, as one skipper called it, “a thrilling adventure”. Some great pictures and video to enjoy below.

Special shout out to skippers Alex Huang (2nd), Larry Mayne, and Tom Lyons from The Club and to their crews.

The Club at Westpoint, Sequoia Yacht Club, and Treasure Island Yacht Club are once again hosting the Westpoint Regatta on Saturday, July 8th.

Race Highlights:

41 boats completed the race
Over 50 people volunteered
2h37m22s was the fastest time (27NM)
A blind captain won the non-spinnaker division
In the PHRF 4 class just 4 minutes separated the times of the first 5 boats
And in the PHRF 2 class just 15 seconds were between first and second place 2nd place
Over 250 dinners sold
Over 300 cocktails sold

Thank you to everyone without whom there would would not be a Westpoint Regatta, to the volunteers, the skippers and crews, and to the guests who joined us at the party.

Cruise-Out Calendar Update

Hello Cruisers,

As we have had a couple of adjustments to the schedule, I just wanted to remind you of what we have planned for the next couple of months. Please mark your calendar with this info and I hope to see you.

Aug 25 to Sept 1: The Delta. One of my top 3 places to visit!
Sept 1 to 4: Sausalito (Schoonmaker)… Those that are in the Delta can stop here on the way home as it’s an easy stopover along the way, or if not in the Delta, please do come and join us for the Labor Day weekend.
Oct 20 to 22: Half Moon Bay

I’d love to get an informal “we’re planning to go” or “wish we could but can’t make it” email from you… so please, reply to me (no need to reply all) and just give me a sense if you are planning to join any of the above cruise outs. I will create sign-ups but would love to get a sense of the number of people planning to join. Mostly because planning a cruise out for 3 boats vs 15 boats is very different.

Hope to see you out there! Last weekend in Ayala Cove at Angel Island was FANTASTIC. The winds up and back were perfect, lots of fun at the island, and we took dinghies over to Corinthian YC to visit with the crew of Hurrica and Ocean Queen as they participated in the Wood Boat Show. You missed a fun weekend with lots of boats (and classic cars)!
