Moving operations to Westpoint Harbor and building a new world-class facility
Redwood City, CA (June 28, 2019) – The Club at Westpoint (The Club), the newest boating social club in the Bay, and Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation (PYSF), a leading junior sailing training program on the west coast, announce a formal agreement to collaborate, support, build and expand PYSF. As an affiliate, The Club will support and host PYSF as its exclusive junior program. And as part of the collaboration, PYSF will relocate operations to Westpoint Harbor during the first phase in August of this year. During the second phase, PYSF will build a state-of-the-art training facility, enabling PYSF to meet the growing demands of students from the San Francisco Peninsula and beyond.
“Working with The Club, we are set to build a nationally-recognized training program, and I look forward to our first event later this year, co-hosting the Chubb U.S. Junior Championship Regatta at Westpoint Harbor,” said Molly O’Bryan Vandemoer, Director and Head Coach of the Peninsula Youth Sailing Program. “We are pleased to be affiliated with such a highly successful program as PYSF, and this new collaboration enforces our commitment to our members to provide premier services,” said Peter Blackmore, Founder and President of The Club At Westpoint. “We are very grateful to both the Port of Redwood City and Sequoia Yacht Club who have supported us over the last decade plus. As we look to the future, The Club and Westpoint Harbor offer an exceptional opportunity to support the expansion of our program,” said Stephanie Ashworth, Board President of the Peninsula Youth Sailing Program.
